Impact & Transparency
MagicAid brings moments of wonder, comfort, and connection to children facing illness, hospitalization, and medical procedures. Through trained medical student and healthcare volunteers, we use therapeutic magic to help pediatric patients feel less anxious, more engaged, and more in control during stressful healthcare experiences.
As a small, volunteer-led nonprofit, MagicAid is able to turn modest donations into meaningful patient-facing impact. This page shares our organizational structure, annual reporting, governance information, nonprofit profiles, and use of funds so donors, family foundations, and hospital partners can evaluate our work with confidence.

Impact at a glance
MagicAid brings therapeutic magic to pediatric patients and families through trained medical student and healthcare volunteers. Since our founding, MagicAid volunteers have supported more than 5,000 pediatric patient interactions across hospital-based chapters. Our programs combine bedside engagement, volunteer training, child-centered communication, and ongoing research into non-pharmacologic approaches to anxiety, coping, and patient experience.

IRS filings
View our most recent 990-N filings here.
MagicAid files Form 990-N because our annual gross receipts have historically fallen within the IRS threshold for small tax-exempt organizations. As our organization grows, we will update this page with any required Form 990-EZ or Form 990 filings.
Nonprofit Profiles
MagicAid maintains public nonprofit profiles with Charity Navigator and Candid/GuideStar. Because MagicAid currently files IRS Form 990-N rather than the full Form 990, Charity Navigator’s standard methodology cannot generate a complete financial rating for our organization. This reflects the limitations of applying large-nonprofit rating criteria to a small, volunteer-led nonprofit, not a lack of transparency. For that reason, we provide core organizational, governance, financial, and impact information directly on this page for donors, funders, and institutional partners.

Use of funds
Donations support magic supplies for pediatric patients, volunteer training materials, hospital chapter launches, research activities, and program expansion. As a volunteer-led organization, MagicAid keeps overhead low and directs the majority of spending toward patient-facing supplies, volunteer materials, training, chapter development, and program growth.
Donor Impact
Because MagicAid’s annual operating budget is approximately $10,000, gifts from individuals and family foundations can have a direct and immediate effect on our ability to grow. A single modest grant can meaningfully support supplies, volunteer training, hospital chapter development, and research dissemination for an entire year.
